Changes Part One

First I would like to apologize for our last comic being late this week. That crazy snow storm that messed up the Midwest had a funny way of effing up my schedule which is weird because I don't need to leave the house to create our comic. But, all the time spent shoveling snow or taking triple the time to drive anywhere sucked my comic time away.

Second I'd like to welcome all the brave souls that clicked our little link in the Side Quest blog and ventured over to my, somewhat dying, art blog. Maybe with a few extra eyes on this page I'll be forced to post some more stuff. We'll see how things go though.

Lastly I'd like to talk about why we are taking a break from the comic. We are only taking off three weeks and will drop our first comic of 2011 on January 10th. Paul and I have written six comics so far for the New Year and I'm very excited about getting them out for everyone.

Our break from the comic can be broken down into three categories: Holidays, burnout and changes.

The Holidays is easy to explain. It's the Holidays. I've got my Brother and Sister-in-law coming up on the 20th for a week so I'm pretty sure there will be gaming and drinking and merriment but probably very little comic making. Also with Holidays happening and the end of this year rounding out the likelihood of me and Paul meeting up on any substantial amount is pretty low.

Burnout is a little harder to explain. Well, maybe not. I'm tired. Not of the comic directly but just tired. I've been pulling double duty at two restaurants and working my night job and having a social life and putting out the comic which I love doing. But. I just need a week off and some time to get things organized and freshen up for another year of pumping out the insane work me and Paul do. Now the burnout leads up directly into the changes.

If you've been following Paul on the blog you've heard him talk about the changes the comic will make but there has been no real info about those changes. Well, that's what the next few weeks and this blog will be for. We've got major to minor changes going down and as they happen I'll talk about some of them hear. I've talked about this at an extent so I wont bore you but we still have to work so any free time goes to the comic. So if I want to tweak or change something in the comic site or layout or just plan create design for our comic that time is taken away from the actual creation of each weekly comic. So that is a big part of our break. I'm going to start to put that extra time I'll have into those little side projects that get shoved to the back-burner because the comic comes first.

One thing I will start to talk about this week is Paul and I both are lucky enough to add one of the big two systems to our collection. We both got the same one and we are really excited about have the opportunity to write comics through a different and added perspective.

Stay classy,
